Re: Redbooks becomes Winmo

I spoke to our Winmo Account Manager. He confirmed that Winmo is not going to provide access via IP recognition. They have chosen instead to pass login credentials via URL parameters. I expressed my concern with the security risk of placing sensitive data like login credentials in a query string. He said they had debated this among the team, but the CTO decided against IP recognition because he felt it opened up the database to threats. They will probably soon offer Open Athens and are looking into offering SSO in the future. They are fine with either the unproxied or proxied link on our A-Z list. We decided to run it through EZproxy anyway for stats and forcing login off campus. We had OCLC replace our Redbooks stanza with this one for Winmo:
