Colleen,
At Skidmore our EZproxy instances (we have two) are both vir=
tual servers hosted by our IT department. They are both Red Hat Linux serve=
rs. We hardly ever have problems with EZproxy going down and in fact it is =
incredibly stable for us. Most of our issues revolve around outdated stanza=
s or changes by publishers to their websites which break EZproxy.
Cheers,
Mike

Subject: [EZPROXY-L] where does your EzProxy live?
Afternoon All,
This question has probably come up a while ago however I'm hoping to get tap=
into the wisdom of this listserv.
We are a public library and currently host our own EzProxy. However staff w=
ould like to explore other options for the purposes of stability. We had th=
ought to have OCLC do the hosting however the price was rather steep. So, m=
y question is, how are you hosting EzProxy? In house or somewhere else? An=
y responses would be valued!
As an aside, do you have any stability issues with the product? We seem to =
have problems with EzProxy going down on a regular basis, however IT cannot =
pin point the problem.
Any insight on this would also be valued.
Thank you
