Hello all, 
I feel that the sentence should be something like this: “But the continuing legal battle over……………………………….may free Mr. Mulcaire to remove his view from the center of the scandal.” Though, the second chunk of sentence: “………..may free Mr. Mulcaire to reveal his view from the center of scandal.” -- Can remain intact depending on the context and the meaning it tries to purport. 
 
“An” should be replaced with “the”. 
 
I think the rest is okay.

I guess there is no interest in playing the "comport" word game yet. Well, here is a grammar question. Look at this sentence:

 

" But an continuing legal battle over the fees will be decided by Britain’s Supreme Court, the report said, and the judgment may free Mr. Mulcaire to reveal his view from the center of the scandal.  "

 

Do you see a grammar mistake anywhere? If so, what?
