Understood. If your situation changes, I would still urge you get some work
experience before going ahead.

You will need any reference letters that are not submitted online to be
mailed - I believe these days this is very unusual.

Things have changed, and vary from school to school - you should be working
off a list. We have discussed this in our archives, and perhaps the Wiki
site has some stuff - in general you need test scores, transcripts,
reference letters, SOP, Resume and any portfolio, depending on the school,
field etc. Which of these components are paper-based, really depends on the
school, your country of origin (I am being generic) and other
circumstances.

Have this list handy and then find out each individual school's
requirements and work accordingly.
