Hello,
A friend of mine tried sending the below mail to this group but was unable
to. Could you do me a favour by evaluating his profile and help him prepare
the university list?

I am a dual undergraduate degree student pursuing Electronics &
Communication Engineering and Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering
at BITS,Pilani - Dubai.
My current CGPA: 8.78/10
*GRE:* 163Q 153V 4.5AWA
*TOEFL: *100
I am presently doing a thesis pertaining to VLSI.
I have completed three internships (2 months each) at Emerson, DRDO and a
not so famous electrical equipment manufacturing company.
I have worked as a teaching assistant at BITS,Pilani - Dubai in four
semesters.
I have been an active member in the Inter University volleyball team and
have secured first place in prestigious tournaments.
No papers or publications.
I wish to pursue a master's in Electrical Engineering :VLSI
I am looking to apply for the following universities and need your help in
deciding:
1. University of Southern California
2. University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
3. Purdue University (Main Campus)
4. University of Maryland, College Park
5. Cornell University (MEng program)
6. Georgia Institute of Technology
7. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
8. University of Texas at Austin
9. Carnegie Mellon University
10. University of California San Diego
11. University of Pennsylvania
12. University of California Los Angeles
13.Arizona state University
14.North Carolina State University
I have no problem in applying for up to 13 universities.
Can you please tell me if any of the above universities can be dropped for
being highly ambi or for not being good for VLSI.
Please suggest other good universities for VLS which I can replace with in
my list.
