Regional think tanks partnership program/ Second round of grants competition

The Barents Group of KPMG Consulting, Inc. and the IRIS Center announce the
second round of grants competition for the  Regional Think Tanks Partnership
Program.

The objective of the program is to enhance and strengthen capacity of
Russian and East/Central
European economic think tanks through professional collaboration, joint
policy studies, and outreach activities. Funding for the program is provided
by USAID as a part of the Agency's support to post-communist economic
transition, development of civil society, and capacity  building in Russia
and Eastern Europe"


Participation in the grants competition is open to partnerships of Russian,
Central and Eastern European, and Western economic policy think tanks that
specialize in applied policy studies of high relevance for post-communist
economic reform and development and are engaged in outreach and advocacy
efforts.

Grant funding will be available for

1. Partnership Grants
Full Partnership funding will provide for professional exchanges,
comparative analyses, collective outreach and dissemination of policy
conclusions, and assessments of reform strategiesIn the current round of
competition, the program anticipates awarding between eight and ten full
partnerships with a maximum total award amount (sum of all individual grants
within one partnership) of $80,000.

2. Partnership Development Grants
Partnership Development funding will provide for the travel and
communications costs for think tanks which need initial support to develop a
full partnership proposal. F maximum total award amount (sum of all
individual grants within one partnership) of $6,000.
