European Society on Family Relations

Announcing the Inaugural Meeting of the European Society on Family Relations
to be held at the
University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands
October 31 – November 2, 2002

Location: The Inaugural Conference of the European Society on Family
Relations will take place on the wooded campus of the University of
Nijmegen, Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Nijmegen is the oldest city in The Netherlands, with a history going back to
the Roman siege in 69 AD. It is situated in the south-eastern part of the
country near the German border.

Plenary sessions include the following topics and speakers:
Child Care: Dr. Jay Belsky, University of London, United Kingdom; Dr.
Lieselotte Ahnert Free University Berlin, Germany.

Investing in Children: Dr. Lea Pulkkinen, University of Jyväskylä, Finland ;
Dr. Marcel van Aken, Utrecht University, The Netherlands.

Studying the Family: Dr. Kurt Kreppner, Max Planck Institute for Human
Development, Berlin, Germany; Dr. William L. Cook, Maine Medical Center,
USA.

Prevention and Intervention: Dr. Karen Bogenschneider, University of
Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Nina Heinrichs & Kurt Hahlweg,
Braunschweig University, Germany

Symposium and Poster Sessions include many new directions in research on
families.
