[issue266] Time travel related display bug (3.05)

Mostly fixed in 3.09. I found and fixed some bugs related 
to flipping this repeatedly but I suspect at least one 
still remains but it occured rarely and I couldn't track 
it down.

Seemed to only happen if I flipped Ned while he was 
running.

I couldn't get him to resize small without time travel.
