Hi all.
TT3141X.zip and TT3141.zip are now available on
ftp://weblabs.eu.com/ToonTalk/Releases/. The X version has new dialogs
that are currently in English only -- though the English versions are
copied to the Portuguese and Swedish folders so they at least work. If
unzipping TT3141X.zip be sure to unzip so that the relative file paths
are preserved.
Besides many bug fixes (see www.toontalk.com/English/bugs05.htm for
details) there are two changes:
1. X version only. When loading a city or object you now see a message
showing progress and indicating that you can interrupt the load by
pressing the Escape button. You can also interrupt the saving of an
object or city by pressing Escape or Pause. This change was motivated by
a significant number of bug reports about ToonTalk freezing when it was
just that a city or object with tens of thousand of parts was slowly
being loaded. When interrupting the loading of a city you now have the
option of going to the previously saved city or entering ToonTalk
without a special city. Also if a user saves a city that is "too big"
they can now interrupt. Loading over the internet is now interruptible
as well. Some of these new features don't apply to time travel since it
would break if a user interrupted the saving or loading of cities.
2. You can paste or drag and drop DMO and CTY files into ToonTalk now.
And the 'File to Object' sensor now works with DMO and CTY files. This
is for both the X and non-X versions since it was a bug that if you
brought one of these files into a running ToonTalk strange things
happened or it crashed.
There are a few known bugs that I'll work on soon but nothing serious.
And I think there are problems with bringing DMO or CTY files into
ToonTalk when time travelling or replaying a demo.
Best,
-ken
