Personally I would avoid option 1. simply because most of the pupils do not even have an email address. Site messages could work better, but I think that we would have some problems in case we receive many comments; in that case we would be hindered by an ocean of messages Perhaps the best option is the third one, with maybe a unique notification message on login, advicing that there are unreaded comments, is that possible?
