A table on the welcome page does not scale too well. It's good to have the most recently updated reports in general, where "commented on" counts as updated. Alternatively, we could have one list for the most recent updated & one for the most popular - i.e., most commented on / most read. As for personal notifications, I think mail / messaging is the way to go. Michele is right that most kids don not have email. I think the solution to that is to have a default setting for "notifications by msgs", which you can change to "by mail". As for the issue of clutter, I suggest we move the msgs from the left hand bar to a separate page. My observation is that kids love this feature, and use it a lot. On the other hand, when reading a report, seeing all your msgs on the margin is distracting. - Yishay Michele Cerulli wrote: > Personally I would avoid option 1. simply because most of the pupils > do not even have an email address. > > Site messages could work better, but I think that we would have some > problems in case we receive many comments; in that case we would be > hindered by an ocean of messages > > Perhaps the best option is the third one, with maybe a unique > notification message on login, advicing that there are unreaded > comments, is that possible? > > Michele > > At 16.07 19/01/2004 +0100, Jesper Holmberg wrote: > >> Yes, good idea(s).
