There has been some changes to the site:

* Under the groups tab, one can now see how many reports are published
under each topic group and school (within parentheses). It is also noted
in the same way in the favourites-box. This makes it much more convenient to
keep track of newly published reports. I will also add a "NEW" flag to
these listings so that one can see right away if a report has recently
been published in this category. Note that many of the parentheses are
currently empty. This is because the number of reports are updated
whenever a report is published or retracted, and it is rather cumbersome
  to update it manually.

* Comment notification now works better than before. When a comment is
made to a report, the owner is notified by a site IM. This now works
with nested comments as well, so that the owner of a reply that you are
  responding to is notified.

* On the reports listings, you can now see (again within parentheses) the
number of comments made to a report.

* Objects can now be included in a comment. Note that this does not yet
work for java-applets, but otherwise works just as in reports for all
  file types.

* The site now recognizes .dmo and .cty files, and makes sure these are
  not registered as simple zip-files.

During my week in London, we came up with some proposed changes to the
site. I include our protocol below, and if there are no major protests, I
intend to implement them ASAP.

Reordering of content tabs:

* The "Groups" tab will be renamed to "Topics". Through this page one can reach the different topics
(former "Topic Groups"). One can also access "All reports" through this page.

* The "Reports" tab will be renamed to "Sites". Through this pages one can reach the participating
schools. One can also access "All Members" through this tab.

Messages:

* The "Messages" box will be changed so that it only displays the three most recent messages. In
addition, an "All new messages" page will be created and accessible through the "Messages" box.

Communicating about changes:

The site will in general display more information about recent changes through its web interface than it
currently does, and we will reduce the reliance on email notifications.

* The notification of newly published reports, either by email or by site
messages, will no longer be on by default.

* Personal notifications will only be kept in the case where a comment has been made to one of the
user's reports, or if a reply has been made to a comment she has made. These notifications will by
default be made through site messages, but could also be sent by email if the user so prefers.

Comments, please!
