problem with query-replace

I recently updated to JDEE version 2.3.5 with cedet-1.0pre3. I get the
same behavior as described by Roland Kneisl on Tue, 31 Jan 2006:

I think we are not the 2 only ones using query-replace, so the problem
must be related to something in my config, but (1) it didn't exist in
previous version of JDEE and (2) it occurs only in Java buffers, not
in lisp or c++ buffers.

Any ideas?
