Sorry - my email editor insisted on messing with that init.el example -
this is the correct listing, assuming you have put jde-2.3.5.1 and
cedet-1.0pre4 into c:/java/emacs -

- - - - - - - init.el - - - - - -
    (add-to-list 'load-path "c:/java/emacs/jde-2.3.5.1/lisp")
    (add-to-list 'load-path "c:/java/emacs/cedet-1.0pre4/semantic")
    (add-to-list 'load-path "c:/java/emacs/cedet-1.0pre4/speedbar")
    (add-to-list 'load-path "c:/java/emacs/cedet-1.0pre4/eieio")
    (load-file "c:/java/emacs/cedet-1.0pre4/common/cedet.el")

    (defun my-jde-mode-hook ()
      (c-set-style "bsd")
      (setq c-basic-offset 4))
    (add-hook 'jde-mode-hook 'my-jde-mode-hook)
    - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
