Recent GhostScript problems...

Could people with different GhostScript versions available please
report back just what versions cause problems? In particular, I'd
like them to check longer files with preview-image-type set to 'png
(the default, NOT dvipng) _both_ in PDF mode and in PostScript mode.

In PostScript mode we had the following possibile symptoms at one
time:

a) fails on every image
b) fails on every second image, then starts a new GhostScript,
succeeds on the next image, fails on the one after it again etc.

So it would be good to process documents with at least 4 images in
them or so.

This can be related to one of several things, strictly speaking:

a) a race condition: files get created too late or removed too soon.
In that case, the problem might appear different on Windows.

b) a real permission problem: in that case we would need to find out
what the difference to the PostScript path is in principle, and how to
avoid it.

Could all people with the problem also try out to
a) remove .setsafe from preview.el for testing purposes (you don't
need to reinstall preview.el, just to M-x compile-defun RET in the
function after the change).
b) remove the options with "SAFE" in them via M-x customize-variable
RET preview-gs-options RET (don't save for future sessions).

If doing both of these things _still_ does not make newer GhostScripts
work, then we might have a race problem instead of what I _think_ we
have. Of course, the above is not a permanent solution: it is just
for figuring out what might be wrong.
