Nevertheless, todays' exploitation of Tramp seems to be larger. It
is/will be packaged with both XEmacs and Emacs.

Changing the syntax is such a break that it should be done with
obvious advantage only. Unification of syntax would count. Moving to
URL syntax for XEmacs only wouldn't be worth the trouble, I believe.
