If the composed character is in the ISO 8859-1 character set, then you
have a number of options.  We really need to know whater (1) your
XEmacs is composed with Mule and (2) what kind of input method you use
(single-key, compose key, dead-key, etc).  "French keyboard" means
nothing to me.
