edt emulation on MAC OS X

I am using MAC OS X (10.4), and wouldlike to use EMACS in edt  
emulation mode
in an X11.app xterm.

arg. I have tried 1000 different things, and none seem to provide me  
with the correct
.edt-gnu-xterm-keys file.

Sometimes I can get most of the keypad keys to work, but never the  
GOLD key,
which is crucial.

If I run the mapper program from a xterm not in X11 (MACs xterminal),  
it makes
.edt-gnu-xterm-color-keys, which works sort of ok, but no GOLD key.

If I run the mapper program from an X11.app xterm, it makes .edt-gnu- 
xterm-keys, which does nto work at all.

I have scoured the WWW for help. but cannot find anything.

Do you have some suggestions?
