Keyboard Setup

I'm currently running a Native XEmacs (XEmacs 21.4 (patch 13) "Rational 
FORTRAN" [Lucid] (i586-pc-win32) of Sun May 25 2003 on TSUNAMI) on Windows XP 
SP1.  I'm also using an extended multimedia keyboard dubbed an "F-21GQ".

This particular multimedia keyboard generates extended keycodes for all of 
the extra keys. It doesn't use (or need) a special driver to do so. Now, my 
$64,000 question is: Is there anyway to teach new extended keycodes to 
XEmacs? Is there even any way to find out what keycodes are currently 
recognized and what their symbolic names are? I haven't been able to find any 
documentation, or any internal variables or functions that might shed light 
on this topic. I've so far been reduced to running describe-key and seeing 
what it produced, but I remember that the old DOS version of GNU Emacs I ran 
some years ago had a mechanism to activate otherwise unrecognized keys. Is 
there any similar mechanism I should know about? If not, is anyone working on 
a patch? 

If a patch is required, I could write one myself except 
  1) I don't own VC++, which I gather I need to compile this version, and
  2) I'm new to the NT branch of Windows and would need to learn the details 
of the low level keystroke API.

I would also hate to have to go through that much effort just to get the web 
browser keys to be recognized.
