The good folks on Game Squad are giving me differing answers so I though I'd try this list.

In plain English:

Suppose a Gun fires during the MPh and does not retain ROF (and is therefore marked with a First Fire counter), and then it fires at an adjacent target during the DFPh vs. with Intensive Fire, does case D apply in addition to case F? Or can it even fire at all? Does the target really have to be adjacent?

Relevant rules:
A8.4 [Final Fire]: "Any such units/weapons that are marked with a First Fire counter may also fire again . . . but as Area Fire"
C.4 "If the firer's status would impose Area Fire Case D applies"
C5 Table: Intensive Fire (... Case B, D, AFPh, stunned, pinned firer are NA).

The table would seem to indicate that you wouldn't be able to fire at all (like you can't fire IF if you are stunned or pinned). Rule A8.4 is really unclear whether it applies to this situation at all (especially in light of A8.41). Regardless, no one seems to be applying Case D in this situation (and most don't even seem to follow the requirement that the target be adjacent).

My apologies if this is the wrong forum, it's just that I've gotten 3 different answers to this.

Thanks, RS
