I would guess the standard ruling is that it is AI to West that he (West) has opened 2D. I would explain it at the table that he would have noticed before his next turn to bid. But that's for bidding boxes (or bidding screens), I would rule different for vocal bidding.

The rule against memory aids should not apply to information supplied to contestants, such as looking on the board to determine vulnerability. As my room tried to play bridge while a lecture occurred in the next room, I cheerfully told my players the lecture was all AI.
