Impossible to answer off-table. At one end of the spectrum, there will always be people who don't know what is going on, and for whom the club return is a possibility. Made At another end of the spectrum, players should know better and not claim when partner is on lead. Made. But in the middle, there are certainly situations where I would rule that the spade return is the only possibility. One down. This is really up to the table director. Herman.
