Radical idea? Possibly the most contraversial thing I've ever seen you write. :-)

I can just imagine the outrage if the president were to suggest that, given that many (no matter how unfairly) 
blame the Iraq war for the fact that more money and work were not expended on New Orleans' flood defences.

So how about this for a radical idea? How about offering employment in a public works plan to distribute aid to 
the victims of the hurricaine, followed by employment in public works to rebuild the damaged areas?
