Thanks to everyone for your replies. I did get a
return email, and what I thought was the case was (
Sorry I wasn't clearer, it was 1 AM when I wrote that
): He wants out of the game, so I'm just going to
replace him. If he was going to continue on, I agree
with everything everyone has said: Ya gotta let 'em
play as they see fit. I just didn't want to have him
destroy his game position and then quit, y'know? This
way the new player has a viable situation rather than
playing out the string with few chances for anything.
