I found I had enough gaming with World Masters and other tournament play such as Patriot Games. Then there's also the numerous face-to-face tournaments all over the globe. World DipCon is in Vancouver (my home turf) this August and I hope to see many of you there. Let's carry on this discussion over a pint at the beautiful UBC campus. This summer we will be producing a video detailing the haunting activities early 1900's theater in our town. As for Cat23 Diplomacy, you are quite welcome to reoil the pumps and give it another spin. Back in the early 90's a small group of us spun out of the dying private BBS's and started up internet diplomacy. It was quite successful in its time. At one point we had well over a thousand active members and games would be started multiple times each week and it typically took a couple hours to fill a game. No ratings, no police. It was the summer of love...:) The Worldmasters tournament grew out of Cat23 back in 99 as well. Over 700 in the first tourney. People came out of the woods all over the world to play on neutral ground. Since then, Cat23 has slid into the autumn of its life. Its children have all grown and have sprung up dip sites all over the internet. So you will have to excuse us when a few old farts sit around the front porch telling old stories that don't go anywhere. We close the cafe and put up a 'help yourself' sign about a year ago. And here you come, pulling up in your fancy new chevy with your 'right here in dippy city' line. We meant no disrespect. Its just the rule that you have to get past the cranky old farts on the porch before you can go in and fire up the grill in the Cat23 Blue Parrot Lounge.
