Oh, absolutely. GMs run games as GMs see fit, and I
believe that applies also to accepting players into
those games. I have a personal black list of people
who have abandoned games or given other reason not to
play with them, and I refuse to let them join my
games.
Any queue that might be set up wouldn't be an
automatic, next in line for anything type of deal.
I suggest: we could set up something like a forum,
where we'd have a topic for each variant. Players
could go into this forum and leave a comment under the
variant they wished to join, showing that they were
interested in playing that variant. GMs could browse
through this forum-like list, see that there were, for
instance, seven people interested in Colonial, and
decide if they were interested in running that
variant.
