GM NOTE:
First a note to say I've set up an EOG page, which is:

The old page is now removed.
EOG:
Thanks for playing everyone. I thought I'd give a few general comments on the escalation phase and leave the post-mortem to you.
I'd generally run/played Escalation as gunboat before, so I was interested to see what difference was made by negotiations during the placements. The main change seems to be a little more daring placements. There's always one adventurer, which was Eva in this case, but the intertwining of Green, White and Cyan units in Turkey was very unusual - my general view is that it's better to stay well out of any initial conflict in Escalation, then pile in during the confusion.
Taking this more conservative view were Blue (Russia-ish), Yellow (Germany-ish) and Brown (France-ish). I actually liked Green's starting position in Italy, although I thought the entry into the Turkish situation split his forces.
Anyway, well done to Troy for surviving with a precarious situation, and it was nice to see some care bear tendencies still surviving in the cat23 community! A 5-way draw never sounds great, but it did start from 8 players at least, and it generally looks like no one should have risked a stab, so congratulations to those who shared the draw.
Stephen
