VIENNA FALLS!!! AUSTRIAN ARMIES RE-TAKE ITALIAN-HELD TERRITORY AND
STRIKE A BLOW INTO THE ITALIAN HEARTLAND, BUT FAIL TO PROTECT OTHER
CRUCIAL HOLDINGS AS THE GERMAN ARMY STORMS THE AUSTRIAN CAPITAL!
RUSSO-GERMAN COOPERATION YIELDS GAINS AGAINST ENGLAND, BUT IT IS THE
FRENCH MARINES THAT LAND THE MOST TELLING BLOW!
RUSSIAN FORCE CONCENTRATIONS IN THE SOUTH TAKE CRITICAL LANDS FROM
BOTH AUSTRIA AND TURKEY!
TURKISH FLEETS STILL INEFFECTIVE, BUT NOW BLAME TURKISH LAND FORCES
FOR LACK OF SUCCESS! TURKISH CAPITAL BESET ON THREE SIDES!

 From the Presses:

RUSSIAN CREW MAKES GOOD SHOWING IN TIAWANESE REGATTA! (Taipei)
Reports from the shores of Taiwan indicate that a Russian crew,
travelling halfway around the globe in less than a week, made a good
showing at the world regatta held here a short while ago. "Taiwan
was great!" said an emergency replacement who made the trip only at
the very last minute. Meanwhile, the Russians are preparing to
return to their normal naval duties as the general European war drags
on.

SULTAN, REPORTED SLAIN, RETURNS TO SAY "I'M NOT DEAD YET!"
(Constantinople) Amid persistent reports that the Sultan was dead,
the Turkish parliament was fully prepared to elect a new head of
state yesterday when a surprising report emerged indicating that the
Sultan was in fact alive. We have just learned that, far from being
killed, the Sultan had been meditating in isolation about military
strategy. The meditations were evidently fruitful, as immediately
upon his return the Sultan instantly began issuing orders to both
fleet and army units. Results of the fighting were not known at
press time, but government officials here state that the Sultan is
"cautiously optimistic".

GM Notes:

We managed to recover our Turkish leader, and I thank Bret for
stepping back up to the plate. I really hate to lose people.
Charlie's regatta evidently went well (feel free to post about it,
Charlie), so hopefully the wait has been worth it. I'm sure it was
for Charlie, in any case!

We are back on Wednesday deadlines, and hopefully we can stick to the
schedule for more than one whole week this time! The power bases are
shaking out, but there is plenty of diplomacy left. Keep at it guys!

Map sent separately.
