Finally, there is the final table. This one is actually the furthest along with Fall 1908 already completed, but it may be the most balanced board as well with three virtual co-leaders and a feared presence still kicking in the fourth spot. Favorite: Austria (Robert Kohnen) 35% - By virtue of 9 SC's and apparently the assistance of Germany and Turkey, he's in the best position, but he better take advantage of it while he has it because Germany's power looks likely to wane. France (Guy Thomas) 32% - His chances improve drastically if he can remove Germany from the game. England's centers are his whenever he can concentrate on taking them, and he'd be able to force Scandinavia eventually. However, if he's caught having to keep units in the north, he's very vulnerable to Austria, and that's why he's only got the second best chance at victory. Russia (Anatoly Makarenko) 25% - He is in decent position, and Austria will find it more difficult to take further gains from him. However, he'll also find it more difficult to find gains anywhere else while also fighting off Austria and Turkey. He probably needs a strong alliance with France and to then beat France in a race down the stretch. Or perhaps he sees another way to victory? Germany (Toby Harris) 6% - Nobody should count him out until he's out, but his odds are certainly dropping. He basically needs to work tensions between the top three just to survive, and then it is still a jump to recover the top position. If he can spur the English onto his side, his odds appreciate nicely. England (Lee Simpson) 1% - Without his homeland, he's basically in a bad spot, especially with France, Russia, and Germany all around him. With three units, he could recover, but probably not quickly enough to get back into the lead, and even recovery is a stretch at this point. Turkey (Brian Shelden) 1% - His odds are equally poor even with doubling his size by taking Con. He's still at Austria's mercy, and Austria may well decide he needs those centers for himself. If Austria is dismembered, Turkey might have some hope of getting big enough to matter, but not very much. Italy (Stuart Evers) 0% - Gone as a victim to Austria (and perhaps France). ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Yahoo!
