What should it matter who soloed or no in any prior rounds. Its not like anything carrys over. You can argue that there really are no alliance players in the semi's since only one person from each board can advance. Its either top or your done. Perhaps a couple players may gang up on some prior solo getter, but I'd say that really had nothing to do with the solo, but rather that those players saw advantage in getting control of some section of the board quickly. And even with that in mind, its likely that the other players on the board will try and either scuttle that, or take advantage of it in some other way. Its the semifinals man, you either bring your best game or you go home. If your distracted by what someone may or may not have done in a prior round, your likely to detour from your best moves. Take Yann for example...please. I don't trust him any further than I can throw a piano, but I do know that he won't engage in a pointless stab, he won't wander off topic seeking revenge from some real or imagined slight, but I also would be an idiot to leave open centers lying about where he can grab them. I predict that people will play the board as it lies, and won't give a rats behind about what happened in any prior round. ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter J Richardson To: [email protected] Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 10:40 AM Subject: Re: [wm02-chat] Solo AND alliance player I suppose all this depends upon whether the soloist's ally throws the solo. Of course, soloists from round 2 will argue that very point, whilst others will argue that a soloist cannot be an alliance player by the very nature of the fact that he/she ruthlessly soloed in round 2 (or at least one in rounds 1 and 2). . There is probably just as many allinace players as ruthless go-getters, which will make the semis very exciting.
