And an ally (or in most cases - revenge throws) have really nothing to do with the semi's. Am I going to go out of my way to punnish a player who go a solo in a prior round. Sorry, can't be bothered. I can hold an opinion about the value of their solo but thats about it. Actually, I kind of like the thread about players going for "unnecessary solos". I find this thread amusing when I recall some of the old threads about scoring systems way back before WM02 started. There was a distinct camp that held up the solo as the only goal of a game, and that it should be rewarded as such and that the value of draws should be diminished (and therefore in effect punnished.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter J Richardson" <pjrich-XZoyATsUNX5Wk0Htik3J/[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 08, 2004 5:18 AM Subject: Re: [wm02-chat] Solo AND alliance player > > You can argue that there really are no alliance players in the semi's since only one person from each board can > advance. > > My point is that if there are players out there willing to throw games to their ally this is not an argument that > holds water. > > Regards > Peter > > > > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Ray Setzer > To: [email protected] > Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 9:26 PM > Subject: Re: [wm02-chat] Solo AND alliance player > > > What should it matter who soloed or no in any prior rounds.
