FG does have a hangar of its own - FGAddon. I don't think aircraft popularity has ANYTHING to do with its quality. If tons of casual/gamer people fly a barely developed plane, that absolutely does not mean it is high quality. I can name a couple of detailed and fairly authentic aircraft that are less popular. Similar to Debian's "popcon", this should be opt-in. 3) To rate simulation accuracy, I would want the input from two sets of people: those who have flown the aircraft in real life and can compare the simulation; and those who have studied the specs and can give an educated opinion on how close the aircraft programming comes to reality. 4) To measure simulation accuracy, I envision a process similar to Linux kernel signoffs for commits. Each "expert" would sign their names to a particular aircraft and version, with a brief summary of his claims. This would be visible for end users to read and evaluate. 5) I like the idea of multiple hangars. But Official Flightgear should have a hangar of its own, for brand alone. - Chris _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [email protected] https://na01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Flists.sourceforge.net%2Flists%2Flistinfo%2Fflightgear-devel&data=05%7C02%7C%7Cab85d06d929b450516d808deb78f894b%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C639150024297996156%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=A7%2FMotM3IfT%2BJZWXSzwNfHdvVF1h30Cbed3e4ZlOmdc%3D&reserved=0<https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel> _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel
