Not as much of a milestone as it may seem. Tooling for it was already built by Nia, then lost with Nia, then partially rediscovered by me and others, but not made fully functioning yet. I just haven't had enough time to go at it full force - if I had a day, I bet I could make it work. After that it's a matter of building the tiles and storing them in TerraSync servers, or, better yet, streaming them directly from ArcGIS servers. The latter would take a lot more work, but the former would greatly increase the strain on our servers. That's a discussion for another thread, though. Currently we have GPL orthos for the U.S. and some other places around the world: those are certain to be included in TerraSync, if anything.

I agree with Israel, I think Orthophotos with Terrasync would be a huge step forward for the project. I understand that the current focus is quite naturally WS3.0 and the format for the orthos for that is different to the current one which might be a bit of a milestone to clear in order to make it achievable?

Probably wouldn't be best to have the default airport be one that no longer exists. VHHH might be a better candidate, with some better scenery. I think it's also a good thing to have orthophotos that can come with TerraSync at that airport.

Even i like to see Kai Tak (VHHX/VHXX) be be the default airport and i
know its is close and is one for the release in 2028 (the 30th
anniversary of Kai Tak closer).
