I know there was an issue with some host... but shouldn't that affect only one mirror??? What happened to the other mirrors? The problem is we lost HelioHost, and do not have confidence in them any more, even if we could go back. And we lost it suddenly, they did not give us advance warning of problems, so, then we had to try to come up with a new plan very fast between my vacations. us1mirror wasn’t just ‘a mirror’, it was the source of truth for the other mirrors, notably the origin for the CDN, which is the preferred source for terraSync. So we needed a new source of truth, and we can / will use an S3-based system for this, but my quick fix hit the bug that Bunny’s Storage layer won’t serve dot-files, which TerraSync currently relies on. (I filed a bug report but they claim it’s a policy choice, not a bug they would fix) We have some work-arounds coming for this (re-write rule to make HTTP requests to foo/bar/.foo work), but it needs some engineering, and I discovered the bug the day I was flying off on holiday. I spent some time trying to get de3mirror working as the CDN origin while away, we should be ‘nearly there’, I’ll take a look now. So, yeah, fun times :) Kind regards, James _______________________________________________ Flightgear-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/flightgear-devel
