For the record, using Knoppix as an installer for Debian: http://www.freenet.org.nz/misc/knoppix-install.html The new Debain installer is really good though: http://www.debian.org/devel/debian-installer/ But Debian isn't always Linux for beginners, even if it is a better design in the long run. ;) Any of the latest Redhat/Fedora, SuSE, Mandrake, Debian/Testing should be as easy if not easier than windows to install on a PC 6 months to 5 years old. There are many others too...
