Hi, There's not much documentation for chop.pl and photo.cxx. This was something I did as a demo probably 5-6 years ago and haven't touched since. This approach cuts a hole in the scenery and inserts a photo. If the area you want to cover is mostly flat (such as an airport) then another option would be to simply build your own 3d model of the area ... this could be as simple as a single rectangular surface with the photo applied as a texture. It's really easy to place 3d objects into FlightGear. We used this approach to model our UAV flying area last fall and it worked out quite well. Check out the movies in the Dec 12, 2005 section: http://www.flightgear.org/~curt/Models/Special/Rascal110_2/ If you have to deal with terrain, then you probably do need to figure out the chop.pl/photo.cxx code. This requires getting the rest of terragear to work as well (and assembling all the raw data) because you need to completely rebuild the tile with this approach. Last time I tried the photo scenery demo, it didn't work, so there may be something broke in our code right now. I couldn't see anything immediately wrong when I spent a 1/2 day looking into this, but then I ran out of time and haven't had a chance to get back to it.
