I am a programmer and multiengine/instrument pilot, have been working with FlightGear for many months, and would like to contribute improved scenery for some airports in the US. I have already modeled some objects using AC3D and successfully placed them, but I now find that I need to add/move taxiways and otherwise make the type of changes such that I must obviously run terragear to regenerate scenery to complete my project. I'm seeing the following error when I run genapts: Internal error in segmentintersection(): Topological inconsistency after splitting a segment. Please report this bug to [email protected] Include the message above, your input data set, and the exact command line you used to run Triangle. The last full screen worth of data leading up to the error is enclosed, below. It appears that genapts is choking on something to do with the airport KAID. Changing the longitude/latitude bounding box to genapts does not help, I still get the error on KAID no matter what bounding box I choose. I sent a bug report to the address requested by the error message, and have not heard anything back from the author regarding this problem. I took the CVS snapshot of terragear source as of July 1 2006. The OS I'm using is FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE. I have GPC and newmat installed, and have removed -O2 optimization from the TriangleJRS directory and applied a patch to SimGear's newbucket.hxx as recommended by: http://wiki.flightgear.org/flightgear_wiki/index.php?title=Building_Terragear FYI, I have FlightGear 0.9.10 and SimGear 0.3.10 installed and working. The invocation I used for genapts (using extracted DEM-30 data) was: $ genapts --input=apt.dat.gz --work=../../work/ --min-lon=-100 --max-lon=-80 --min-lat=30 --max-lat=40 My main interest is presently for the scenery tiles w100n30 & w090n30. Has anybody tried putting together a script that does a complete scenery build from scratch? If so, I could perhaps use such a script to partition my problem to a potentially incorrect build versus something I might not have done quite right during extraction/setup of the data files before running genapts. I am willing to switch to using cygwin, if anybody has been successful generating scenery with terragear on windows using cygwin. I have also accumulated a list of things which I had do different from the published procedure to get terragear to build on FreeBSD. If anybody has been successful building scenery using the current code from CVS, it would be very helpful to see even a command line history dump of the commands you ran to successfully produce any scenery tiles. Any and all pointers would be greatly appreciated, ...Marc... ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next airport = KAND 782 Building KAID Runway count = 2 Taxiway count = 10 w090n40/w086n40/1548417 18 40.109305 -085.613890 1 Light beacon 19 40.112441 -085.622635 1 Windsock 19 40.105175 -085.605755 1 Windsock 19 40.112976 -085.610562 1 Windsock 19 40.103643 -085.611613 1 Windsock Building runway = 12x Runway 12x is not long enough (5386) for precision markings!
