Translation of "doc" directory ?

Hi everyone,

I just discovered (better late than never...) the existence of the doc directory in the project and, more specifically, the doc/fr one - which is not up to date at all.

So my questions to the maintainers are :

- Are we, translators, allowed to translate the files in this directory ? (I know I have been instructed not to touch anything but fr.po files, but this seems to be an interesting exception).

- Are there any specific instructions / guidelines to translate those ?

- Which branch should I try and translate first ? 2_6 or trunk ?
