 It's probably closer to 20 than 10 years since any translator last
showed any interest to touch those files.

 As long as you just update existing file, it should be ok. If you
want to add a new file or want existing one removed, please open a
ticket, as such changes affect our packaging.

 For the branch question the only advice I have is that any work for
trunk will get released only years from now. I would translate S2_6
first, then port and update those translations to TRUNK.
