Although the bigger problem is how the rate slows dramatically on some tracks, but perhaps it is a problem with trying to play with a wide-view screen. It happens more often on S-D compared to torcs and is generally worse, i.e. some tracks that are not a framerate slowing problem with torcs but are with S-D.
