Hi George, >> they will only be supportted if me or some other patchdev has the time >> or will to add them. > That was long ago in the Josef's todo list. Hope it is now in your too? I'm not sure how long it's been on Josef's todo list, all I know is that when I asked him if he could do it he said it was too tedious, and that he would not do it. >> I didn't finish Road Vehicle Speed Support in time (or the will to >> work out the two different speed properties). > Why not to remove the first one (with 128km/h max) if it is the only > problem? It's not the only problem, as stated above it gets very tedious hooking all the places in TTD and the patch were the variables are used, although admittedly with my exams currently I haven't really put in much effort in working round such things. >> Not all properties will be changable however, stuff like shortened >> vehicles have their own callbacks already. > The main are RV's speed, power, TE, AR for me :) > Joyrider asked, would it allow to change capacity for parts of > articulated engine? Well, the plan was to hook as many properties as possible, although a few will be left for obivous reasons. As for articulated vehicles, I don't understand then enough to make any comments. Josef says that they should be able to have stats (trains) although I never tried to make them have stats. :) >> Also, I believe this callback only works in Windows Version due to >> some unforeseen fragment problems with the DOS version, which is an >> issue since I cannot test the DOS version. > I can't run dos version, so it does not matter. As far as I remember > Josef wrote that he can't compile DOS version now, so I hope that DOS > version will not stop the development of the win version. I believe he can compile the DOS version now, (un)fortinueatly, it would be unfair to just support the Windows version, I know people like MB (who I believe still uses the DOS version of the patch) probably won't like me too much for it. I'll probably try loading ME or using Linux to test it. >> I'm not sure why the fragments work but it's my first provirty on >> this callback to get them working, adding stuff is not as important. >> Currently I'm sitting my exams so fixes and additions won't be for >> quite sometime. > Good luck :) Thanks, ~ Lakie -- TTDPatch mailing list.
