I don´t know if that could be achieved by some new clever TTDPatch
enhancement. :)
All I know (by a notification of Marcin Grzegorczyk) is that a special
function ("GenerateRandomGame") uses sprites [52 ... 88] from
"trgi.grf". These sprites are height maps and used to generate landscape
shapes when overlaid (or mirrored?) at random locations.
Here´s an old screenshot which shoes the result of exchanging one of
those height maps with a "crater" map:

In conclusion, it´s simply possible to exchange any of the existing
height maps with newly created ones. However, it´d be much more clever
to check out the mode of operation of that said "GenerateRandomGame"
function (i.e. its random placement of tiles).
