Of course any ideas for improving filtering are welcome as well, but the primary goal of this list is to see whether there is a need for any kind of Internet-wide standards to improve existing filtering solutions. In regards to blacklists specifically, you can take a look at the large thread on the main ASRG list last week that discussed it. The problem is that many of the blacklist operators are not responsible enough, and therefore we are reluctant to develop a standard that would encourage more blacklists. However, the idea of having a standard protocol and format to obtain reputation and blacklist information to be used inside a filter is certaintly within the scope of this list. If we can determine that such standard is needed, and somehow deal with the human issue described above, that would be pretty cool!
