  It isn't going to happen.  Ever.  Accept that fact, and move on.

  It's possible to name 6 authors in a draft.  It happens all of the
time.  I'm involved in another such draft right now.  I'm currently an
"author", and listed on the first page of the draft.  But with another
author coming on board soon, everyone be punted to the last page, as
"contributing author", and the editors name will go on the first page,
alone.

  Also, this group is (or should be) following IETF guidelines.  It's
not about individual egos, it's about coming up with a technical
solution which passes peer review.  That may mean your work gets
swallowed into a larger document, and you're listed only as one author
out of many.  This happens all of the time.


  So it's time for people here to make a decision:

	Are you willing to work on a common solution?

  If not, then I will recommend to Yakov & Paul that this group be
disbanded, and that the proposal be marked "failed".  It will also
mean that there is a VERY HIGH probability of someone else (not me)
writing a proposal, which WILL get accepted by the IETF.  In that
case, you WON'T GET ANY CREDIT, except maybe "based on ideas from some
guys on ASRG".

  The IETF is probably interested in issuing a combined document as an
RFC.  Spam is a HUGE problem, and is getting a lot of attention.  So
you have a choice.  You can have your name on the document, or you can
be barely acknowledged, if at all.

  Call it blackmail, if you want, but that's the way things work.


  I'm asking everyone on this list to make a public statement as to
whether or not they're willing to work on a combined document, and be
listed as an author, with myself as editor.  If everyone agrees, I
will continue my work on a combined proposal, and post it here for
public comments.
