I fully agree with you. :-) And that's exactly the problem we have. We try to abuse DNS as such a multi-purpose directory service, that's why the different proposals try to hide boolean values in MX records, integer numbers in A records and long XML data in TXT records which need to be stitched together. That's exactly the problem. That's why we have difficulties and that's why so many drafts erroneously focus on how to pack information into DNS instead on focus on the main problem to avoid spam and fraud. That's why I proposed to move to HTTP. Because that's an appropriate and very pretty protocol for transferring arbitrary data such as our records. Hadmut
