Dear Thomas,

Thank you very much. I have submitted my feedback for the joint interim session. Having more time for discussion is always helpful.

Best,
Libin

Subject: RE: IPPM/BMWG Consolidation (RE: IPPM/BMWG IETF 124 and Interim Joint Session)

Dear Libin,

Correct! We reserved 120 min for the joint session at IETF 124 where 90 min we discuss on currently adopted document on both working groups. Expect that when the preliminary agenda on October 4rd is published that we will reach out for getting session requests. It is advisable to publish the document updates early to encourage discussions on the mailing lists.

We are currently looking for a good date for doing the joint interim session where we are focusing on newly proposed work. We already got some first feedback on the poll https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/b6VmvjLb what would the best date be. At the moment it looks like November 20th. We encourage all to submit the preferred date in the coming week. The joint interim session will be also 120 min. From IETF 123 we learned that we should accommodate more time to facilitate discussions.

I hope that make sense. Feedback always very welcome.

Best wishes

Thomas

Be aware: This is an external email.

Hi Med and Chairs,

Thank you very much for the information. Just want to make sure that the incoming IETF 124 WG meeting will only discuss the WG documents and the joint interim session at end of November will discuss the non-WG drafts, right?

Hope to see the discussions on the joint work in the two WGs.

Best,

Libin

Subject: [bmwg] IPPM/BMWG Consolidation (RE: IPPM/BMWG IETF 124 and Interim Joint Session)

Hi all,

As announced by the IPPM/BMWG Chairs, and as a follow-up to the joint meeting we had in Madrid and taking into account the synergies between the two WGs, we will be exploring how we can better structure our work in the measurement/benchmarking area.

I'm delighted to announce that Qin (cced) kindly accepted to coordinate this effort and hold the pen for future chartering work. A 30-mn discussion slot will be dedicated to this effort in the joint session in Montreal. The effort and some preliminary outcomes will also be presented in OPSAREA session to have feedback from the OPS community beyond IPPM/BMWG. The Nov interim will also cover this topic.

Your inputs, suggestions, issues, work prioritization proposals, etc. are more than welcome. Please reach out Qin to share your ideas. This will help Qin organize the discussion in Montreal.

Cheers,
Med
