For an app, it is not enough to just be able to read 'old' iCalendar files, but now they also need an xml parser and parse xCal. And with new things come new bugs and new problems. And in the light of calsify: Having two ways to represent that same data doesn't make things simpler. You need to choose one format, and be able to read both.
