Dear All. As stated in the rfc3315 [image: image.png] *I have the following questions/queries/proposals. * 1. Is it possible to use the M=1 for any* X-Address Assignment Protocol *instead of the DHCPv6 protocol? OR 2. What if I introduce another bit after the O-bit in the RA message for any *X-Address Assignment Protocol* (there are some reserved/free bits available)? We can state that anyone can use that X-bit for any *X-Address Assignment Algorithm. * OR 3. Combination of M and O bits as mentioned below M=1 O=0 (DHCPv6 +DNS and other services available via DHCPv6) as per RFC3315 M=0 O=0 (SLAAC + No DNS and other services) as per RFC3315 M=0 O=1 (Free combination we may use it for *X-Address Assignment Algorithms* + other services) (My proposal) looking forward to your response. Thanks -- Regards, Adnan _______________________________________________ dhcwg mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
