Yes. The dnsext WG has gone to sleep and may never wake up. So, for  
the moment at least, it's time to stop fiddling with the DNS protocol.

No. There are plenty of these already: LDAP, X.500, etc, etc. Why add  
another one? It'll only be as successful as its predecessors.
