Yes, I know that some devices have LDAP interfaces (including mine for that matter). But no, not many IMS components do - more have DIAMETER and that's what they would use if not ENUM. Whether that's wise I will leave to others. :) But pretty much any device has ENUM, because all of them have DNS. Regardless, authentication of a client querying DNS doesn't happen. They get around it through other means, whether by having private or unadvertised DNS server IP addresses, or limiting who the requesters can be by IP, or whatever. That's a problem they have to deal with for everyday ENUM use anyway. Most service providers don't want to let just any random client query their ENUM DB's, even without this draft extension. -hadriel
